well k9, It sounds like you still don't understand even after the quotes from the people who wrote the Bill of Rights.

The milita was the whole body of the people and to be well regulated ment to be armed and trained. Not what stupid one wrote, "Lest they run amuck."

If you were a male able to bear arms you were in the milita even if you didn't want to be.

We can thank the NRA and lapdogs Republicans for this shining example of American Exceptionalism.

Cannoneer wrote:Its quite relevant. We are discussing gun violence and you suggest rules will cause people to behave themselves. And your analogy about traffic lights is out of place. Big difference between running a red light and shooting someone.

What you wrote is not a list of practical suggestions, and what other countries do is irrelevant in the United States. We are still a country of nearly free people.

My statement about your little world was meant to be as silly as your list of laws. I guess you are just too wise to understand that.

When I suggested arming teachers to stop the shooters you rejected it because it would only reduce the number of murders. Now you say the main problem has nothing to do with crime.
A very large percent of gun deaths are a result of suicide. People commit suicide for many different reasons. Both physical and mental pain, or to escape some kind of consequences for something they had done. How they choose to kill themselves is nobody's business but their own.

Also. I'd like to remind you that the second amendment is part of The Bill of RIGHT'S, not the bill of "PRIVILEGES."

Hi Although suicide is technically a crime,
in this scenario, it shouldn'
t be considered as a crime as our emphasis is on the guns.
And you're right,
how a person commits suicide is his/her decision. :turn: :turn:

Here's a suggestion for the tiniest of steps toward more sensible gun policies.

And, of course, the NRA will oppose it.

I cannot wait for the authorities to complete their investigation of NRA laundering of Russian money that they then passed on to Donald Trump. This will be the final nail in the coffin of both Trump and the NRA.

Some states have "cooling off periods". Depression and mental illness and drug addiction and THE HOPELESS and godless LEFT can lead to suicide.

These are the facts.

https://www.wsj.com/articles/are-there-really-more-mass-shootings-than-days-in-the-year-1507487568

Postby Crux » 2019 Jan 15 09:17

"The FBI defines “mass murder” as “four or more victims slain, in one event, in one location.”

Amy doesn't.

Starting with the FBI’s definition of four or more fatalities, the Congressional Research Service reported that from 1999 through 2013 there were an average of 20 to 22 mass shootings in the U.S. annually.

In an average year, four of these would be “mass public shootings”—the kind that often get national media attention.

Of the rest, about half were “familicides”—killings within a family or estranged family, usually taking place in a private residence. The other half were “attributable to an underlying criminal activity or commonplace circumstance,” such as armed robbery, gang activity, insurance fraud or romantic triangles.

The website Mass Shooting Tracker, by contrast, counted 340 mass shootings in the U.S. between New Year’s Day and last Monday—consistent with Mr. Murphy’s claim of more than one a day. The site uses a much broader definition of mass shooting: “an incident where four or more people are shot in a single shooting spree. This may include the gunman himself, or police shootings of civilians around the gunman.” Under this definition, the shootings needn’t be fatal.

It’s not surprising that people who favor gun confiscation would prefer an indiscriminate methodology. But it’s not helpful in actually reducing violence. Different solutions are needed for different types of crimes."

Certainly Amy CARES about Liberty, and accuracy, and helpful information, and YOUR INDIVIDUAL rights as free law abiding People? Surely...

Red State CCW Permit holder commits HATE crime

Postby Crux » 2019 Feb 18 08:18

We FINALLY cave a concealed carry Permit holder, armed with a Glock .40 and TWO extra magazines, committing a crime.

A HATE crime no less, triggerred in a Sam's Club by a married couple DARING TO WEAR MAGA HATS! Simple Political Speech, that red "Make America Great Again" hat is really just too much for the LEFTIST HATER with a gun!

https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2019/0 ... maga-hats/

Let's throw in a MASS SHOOTING too.

One that AO didn't want to chime in on and neither did the Legacy Narrative Crony Media complex:

https://www.nytimes.com/2019/02/16/us/a ... oting.html

Notice above, in the NYT they make no mention of what race the killer was, because it doesn't fit the NARRATIVE. I don't give a crap if he is purple, however the fact is that he was black. I thought the Left really cared about race, and being racially divisive and all that.....

Cannoneer wrote:And certainly you blame the guns and not the killers.
There have many mass shootings since columbine and they always happen where the victims are unarmed.
Even if a law was passed to make guns against the law there would be several million guns still among the population because many people with guns would not give them up. And nothing would change.
Saying nobody should have a gun is as foolish a statement as the one from the 60's. "Suppose they called a war and nobody came"
A gun is a tool and it is only as good or as bad as the person who uses it.

You are correct man. It only depends on the person for what purpose is he using the gun. He should use the weapon only for the safety purpose.

Words come to mind: DEFENSIVE SIDE ARM. SELF DEFENSE. Right to Keep and Bear.

A gun is a tool, and an inanimate object.
