Is America becoming a Third World Country?

Postby Wise One » 2008 Feb 01 16:39

I don't think we are quite there yet, thankfully, but I'm very disturbed by the trends.

As compared to other countries in the First World we seem to be losing altitude, fast. Most indices of US economic success, as compared to western European countries, show we are in rapid decline. The dollar has lost so much value that many of us are economic prisoners in our "homeland", hardly able to afford travel to other First World countries. Investment in public facilities and pride in their use has plummeted, there being only a single criterion for a new building, "How cheap can we build it?" That mind-set would have made construction of the magnificent US Capitol impossible.

When I see an explosion of petty criminal activity like that listed below, stealing scrap, I think of desperation and poverty found only in the worst of the Third World:
http://www.dailybulletin.com/news/ci_4034731
http://ledux.blogspot.com/2006/11/coppe ... lobal.html
http://www.recordonline.com/apps/pbcs.d ... /801220323
etc.

For every inefficiency you can find in European economies, I must answer that it is dwarfed by the nonproductive financial load we put on our own backs to fight a war of choice which has no purpose, and to push an ever larger share of the national resources into a military. Our competitors to not hobble themselves as we do, and they're sprinting ahead.

:hmm: What do you think? :hmm:

I think the TV guy is the one that is the idiotic cause you can tell just by looking at his skin he will be all "obama is perfect" and stuff and its stupid maybe that Mr. Trump is african cause he is totally the wrong color. Any body can see that, huh? How dumb can you get juggeler?

Trump is the only one that can make America great again and get rid of all the aileens and terrorists so he has my vote I bet.

But I'm kind of embarrsassed cause I never voted in Virginia yet even though we lived here a long time cause its kind of a trouble to drive all the way their. They should have a votemobile like the old timey bookmobile, huh? Only they should drive where mostly real American people like us live with property and stay away from those parts where the black thugs and aileens and renters live maybe. That would be a good idea, huh? Oh do I have to register cause I have my birth certificate OK, where?

Love and kisses,
Your friend

I used to hang out with that guy. No, really, I did, in the late 1990s.

He was personable enough during the 15 minutes or so each day when we were together, but an incident occurred that illuminated his true character and burned a negative assessment of him on my brain forever. And that incident made Marla so mad that she screamed at him, "Go home, Donald, we don't want you here."

And he did, tail between his legs, to everybody's relief.

This WaPo opinion piece on the Trumpster gives useful insight into the danger he poses to the United States.

Other countries have been here before. Let's hope that the US citizenry, in the end, will reject the notion that we should emulate those sorry examples.

I'm not only rejecting Trump, for the first time I'm determined to work positively in the campaign of the nominee of the party that will oppose him in the presidential election.

My first choice would have been Ben Carson. He wants the government to be guided by the constitution like the founding fathers intended. The constitution is something that the curent administration ignores.
The RNC does not seem happy with the prospect of letting Trump get the nomination so it's uncertain who will be the Republican on the ticket.
Whoever it is will get my vote since I will be faced with a choice between that person and a socialest or a women who is such a witch that the crew of Marine One during the Clinton administration nick named their ship "Broomstick One"
If anybody is curious about that email me at kcirts@yahoo.com and I'll send you the information on that.

Ben Carson! Not an option. If he's so smart, why is he backing Trump?

Reality dictates the election will be a contest between Hillary and the male version of Sarah Palin.......and perhaps Gary Johnson.

The constitution is a pamphlet republicans profess to worship at their convenience and ignore whenever expedient. One tires of hearing about the constitution from people who would gut it as ruthlessly as they would gut the government itself.

The results of the election will be determined by how many low information, emotionally disturbed, single issue citizens drag themselves to the polls to vote against their own best interests.

Because we're Americans and it's what we do. And we'll get exactly what we deserve.

Trump should win this.

Hillary is an unlikable, terribly flawed, corrupt, a two faced liar, and a power-over Socialist.

Bernie at least is an HONEST power over Socialist. Trump should win this election for sure...

You are a JUVENILE in a mental sort of way.

You have a DOUCHE fixation, as is evidenced by your use and reference to douche.

It is odd and immature and decidedly juvenile behavior, shallow, and sad.

Trump gains traction because he is fearless when standing up to PC Leftist Identity Politics.

Take the slaughter of 50 LGBT nightclub patrons during LGBT/Ramadan. TRUMP, tells it like it is.
Too many cower and fear pointing a finger at a known Islamist, ISIS congregant, BECAUSE HE WAS MUSLIM.

Trump has the potential to be a very fine or even timely and effectively positive POTUS. Hillary?

I know you probably think so. Douche on FOOL.

OMG, I did not think anybody on the planet could plumb the depths that Donald Trump habituates, but Crux does just that.

Regarding the Pulse Nightclub Shooting in Orlando, 50 dead:
Donald Trump on June 12 wrote:Appreciate the congrats for being right on radical Islamic terrorism.

As always, the narcissist Trump views everything in the world as being about him and him alone. 50 dead? He congratulates himself!

His sickness is shared by some, for example our Crux, but thankfully there are not enough crazies to elect the bastard and he will quickly pass from the scene in the ignominious defeat he so richly deserves.

AO you are a strange one. The San Bernadino killers were soft peddled by neighbors because they didn't want to be accused of being bigots, and a co worker of the Orlando killer was the one who reported that this guy was very unhinged and constantly making anti gay comments and talking about killing folks, and was not dealt with by the G4S Security Company "because he was a Muslim".

The largest mass shooting and killing in American history was just carried out by an ISLAMIST, non-white guy.
SOME OTHER Bernie supporter was arrested with guns, bombs and evil intent towards an LA LGBT Pride parade.

That guy was white, and a leftist. Who was a homophobe. Apparently.

Your criticisms of me are failed.
I am not "our own crux" nor am I making any kind of brash or bold statement.

I don't think I'll get into this nutty Trump seesaw.

I'll leave it to Ken Burns. He hits the nail squarely on the head:

The ability to overlook the corruption, cronyism, and control that is offered up by a President Clinton is striking, yes....

On the lighter side, Obama gave Trump a 70th birthday present today. He went from Commander in Chief, clarifying the state of our efforts to confront ISUL to Proctologist in Chief, delivering a well placed boot to Trump's posterior region.

Happy birthday, Donald.

A prominent Republican columnist wrote:A vat of wine is standing next to a vat of sewage. Add a cup of wine to the sewage, and it is still sewage. But add a cup of sewage to the wine, and it is no longer wine but sewage. This is what Donald Trump has done to our politics.

It would appear that few of us are admirers of The Donald, well, with the possible exception of our perennial contrarian.

But it always amazes me that, no matter how wacky or clearly wrong a person or idea is, nearly half of the population of the US will rush to support.

Will half the population support Hillary?

The DNC, and Hillary, seem to be UNWORTHY of support, for the principled and the Bernie supporter...
