Election Time Again

Postby Crux » 2014 Nov 01 07:46

2014 MIDTERMS:

Certainly 1/3 of folks have already voted. Voting has never been EASIER!

Colorado is blazing trails with a mail in vote. Shoot, you can even mail in 9 extra votes on behalf of others! Still, Colorado is one of maybe 7 States that could FLIP Senate seats from DEMOCRAT to Republican. Alaska, Montana, South Dakota, Colorado, Iowa, and two southern states, Arkansas and West Virginia. Georgia and Louisiana are in play too and maybe North Carolina or New Hampshire could surprise us though it is unlikely.

Sabato calls it R +5-8 seats.

The GOP will likely gain several, maybe even double digit gains in the House. REMEMBER these House Reps are elected EVERY TWO YEARS. They are our most accountable and CLOSEST representatives in the Federal Government. History will not look kindly on our flailing President and his failings.

Sabato has the GOP +9

Hope you get out and vote Tuesday!!!
:tiphat: Just make sure the machine is in fact "calibrated" correctly when you hit SUBMIT.

WHO? Obama?

Postby Crux » 2014 Nov 02 19:46

Michael Goodwin? Writer and journalist for the NY POST? Registered Democrat? What does he have to say... This article is damning.
What a strong indictment of Obama, and the Democrat Party and the Democrats in D.C. Just WOW. Amazing time we are living in.
So much effort has gone into defending the irresponsible and incompetent growth of the Federal State. We are not being well served.

http://nypost.com/2014/11/02/obama-alwa ... eone-else/ :sigh: Get out there and vote for ED!!

referendum

Postby Crux » 2014 Nov 03 09:31

Warner by 10 or more for a long time. Now it may be SEVEN. If Mark beats Ed by 4 it is still a loss for the Rs. That's local, but Nationally?
There are more Rs than Ds in r e f e r e n d u m. By a two to one margin. As well the word ends in DUM which Old Man Coondog won't fail to note.

So many story lines. I hope Brown wins in N.H. I see him ably arguing the good cause with Warner and Warren. Should be fun.
Gotta have a Positive Attitude. Obama has had 6 years to Transform. I hope the r e b u k e is r e s o u n d i n g ! ! ! Remember:

These Senators are supposed to represent their State on behalf of it's People in D.C.
Not rep their Party, not the Federal Government as Sovereign over The People certainly...

Anyway. VOTE TOMORROW :beatdead:

Obama dug us out of the worst recession in fifty years, has reduced the national deficit, has decreased unemployment strikingly, and has made a good start on reforming a health insurance nightmare.

My advice to you ... don't have children. You'll beat them if they bring home A's from school, you'll ground them if they eat their vegetables, and you'll praise them if they steal lunch money from the handicapped kid at school. They might fit well into the Republican Party, but nowhere else.

Please.

Obama bailed us out of nothing. Wow. Then it should be obvious to all that Obama deserves to be rewarded in these midterms. I hear you right?

Even the folks of Phili today filled only 25% of the Obama campaign event seating. The President is the symbol of an inept and overbuilt Fed.
Attacking me with such silly demeaning stuff about not having kids is what passes for high minded commentary? You demean yourself wiseone.

You are in another camp politically. We are in the same human family. It is not necessary to savage your opposition with personal slights. :coffee:

Obama's hubris and the heights from which he has fallen are born out by his overall approval in the polls. His support is down across all demographics.
He's about to have the worst two midterm elections since Harry S. Truman. Democrat Ideology is about to suffer historic defeat. This is about reversal.

Dishonesty, negligence or incompetence, heck, call it his very best efforts and leave it at that. President Obama is inspiring folks to turn out, or not.

Wise One wrote:Obama...has increased unemployment strikingly...

Here you are correct. If you consider the epic numbers of Americans not in the workforce NOW. Unemployment is a big problem.
Americans might be rejecting the Democratic Party "you didn't build that-anti free market/businesses don't create jobs" progressive ideology?

One can hope. One can change. One can reject the bloated inefficient federal bureaucracy. Obama called it. His policies are on the ballot.

....failed to mention the appointment of a few girls to the Sublime Court, sent Bin Laden to hell, saved the US auto industry, is overseeing an extended period of job growth and a stock market at record highs, among other things.

But, of course, these kind of failures are apt to lead to low poll numbers among the stupidest people on earth. One of the most honest assessments by any conservative over the past 20 years is the observation that, "You can't fix stupid!" Coondog is inclined to agree, because as Momma Gump says, "stupid is as stupid does" and people continue to vote against their own best interests. Why?

Stupidity!

Participants in the Red Neck Comedy Tour have no interest in fixing stupid. Neither do representatives in congress. It's who pays their salary.

Tomorrow is another important day in the continued experiment we call America. The results will enable us to determine just how stupid we are.

The smart money is that, regardless of who wins the Senate, the collective representation will mirror the constituency and that the constituency is, collectively, dumber than a bag of bricks! :bricks:

Coondog presents the following supportive quotes for your discernment:

“Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.”
― George Carlin

“Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe.”
― Albert Einstein

“In politics, stupidity is not a handicap.”
― Napoleon

“The two most common elements in the universe are Hydrogen and stupidity.”
― Harlan Ellison

“I have defined the hundred per cent American as ninety-nine per cent an idiot.”
― George Bernard Shaw

“If stupidity got us in this mess, how come it can't get us out.”
― Will Rogers

“Something reduces the speed of the world and that something is stupidity! Stupidity is a boring friction!”
― Mehmet Murat ildan

“The fundamental cause of the trouble is that in the modern world the stupid are cocksure while the intelligent are full of doubt.”
― Bertrand Russell

“In other words, the more stupid one is, the more he thinks he knows.”
― L. Frank Baum

“Sometimes I wonder whether the world is being run by smart people who are putting us on, or by imbeciles who really mean it.”
― Laurence J. Peter,

If the Democrats win it shows ENLIGHTENMENT. If the Republicans win it shows STUPIDITY. This is such SHALLOW observation. Coondog is incoherent.

What rhetoric. OBAMA saved us from economic implosion and the WORST downturn since WWII. OBAMA saved the auto industry. OBAMA killed Bin Laden.
This stuff is as shallow as the war on women mantra! There is no ability to slow down and be honest about events. The Democrats will be rebuked...

The STOCK MARKET is up. The Dems should be HOWLING at that. Those EVIL RICH have been well served by Obama too!! It is crazy-making logic.

There you go. Obama did such a great job and the American People in Maryland loved him so much for it they elected a Republican Governor. Shocking.
Obama should send up a different nominee for Surgeon General. Hillary with her "businesses and corporations don't create jobs" rhetoric fell flat. :dontknow:

ILLINOIS elected a GOP Governor. Harry Reid's Chief of Staff harshly criticized Obama for being an incompetent. Tim Scott elected to a full term in S.C. Mia Love elected in Utah. Scott Walker re-elected. We must have fiscally conservative governance. Our national debt is $750,000 per each American.

Sabato had the GOP picking up 9 House seats. So far they have gained 14. He had the Democrats picking up 3 governorships. THEY LOST 3... Record numbers of reps in the House, holding the largest majority since 1928. The Senate flipped with the GOP maybe netting NINE seats in due course. :dontknow:

Last night had a few bright spots, but overall it was very disappointing for Democrats. A mood of dejection is evident among them.

The country seems determined to reward the guys who get us into messes, and punish the guys who work diligently to dig us out.

The causes are an incredibly effective national Republican propaganda machine (Limbaugh, Hannity, Fox-TV, Heritage Foundation, etc.), and boatloads of money from a few crazed billionaire right-wingers to purchase ever more propaganda. It works.

Across America, people voted “R” regardless … usually without knowledge, and sometimes in spite of knowledge, of the relative merits of the candidates. In the southern red states there is no question that Obama-ire is 90% rooted in raw racism. I live among and know these people. I am not fooled by their having cleaned up their public language a bit. Racist hatreds still rage and they still speak naked racist insult when they think they are out of public earshot.

I don’t have the prescription for fixing it, unless it is this. Actually, John Sarbanes does have a promising prescription and we would do well to implement it.

This is a Republic and it rejected Obama. HISTORICALLY. Epic Fail if viewed only in the election results in two Midterms. Obama 's Cult of Personality? :dontknow: The bloom is off the rose across the board. ANY President would be opposed if they had duplicated Obama's performance.

Illinois, Maryland and Massachusettes all voted in Republican Governors and not for the DEMOCRAT incumbent!! :coffee:

Nikki Haley won RE-election with a 56 to 41 margin. First of all she is a WOMAN. Secondly she is Indian Amaerican, one of TWO REPUBLICAN Indian American GOVERNORS elected by SOUTHERNERS.

Quite possibly the congressional majority will, like crux, continue to defame and mischaracterize Obama's Presidency, in spite of rare conciliatory remarks by Mitch McConnell. Possibly, remaining democrats in the Senate will rip a page from the republican play book and filibuster every piece of legislation the majority attempts to enact. Perhaps Obama will borrow an attitude from Dick Cheney and tell republicans to just go F themselves.

It is clear that, in order to inspire liberals to go out and vote, you have to give them something to love. All you need to get conservatives to the polls is give them something to hate. In the toxic environment that began the day Obama was inaugurated, there is a lot of hate and very little love out there.

The future is unclear, but should be defined by whether the first bill produced by this new congress is some kind of jobs bill or yet another repeal of the ACA.

Likely, they will give progressives something to hate. Six years ago, and again two years ago, progressives had something to love, expecting to reap the rewards of victory while retiring into their apathetic shells and now complaining that Obama didn't single handedly and magically give them everything they expected. Liberals are too smart to allow hate to rule their decisions. Apathy, on the other hand......................!!!

The results of his election was not a failure of Obama nor some new found popular affinity for the GOP. It was the failure of citizens who ought to know better to show up and vote.

From what we see here, and as history teaches us, conservatives are worse winners than they are losers, so expectations of abatement of rhetorical hyperbole is a waste of effort.

The radio says that electoral induced abject depression will abate in about a week. We shall see!

Coondog :dontknow:

MIA LOVE (R), elected by the lily white folks of Utah. Oh those haters!

You know, scores of millions were poured into WHITE traditionally blue union-controlled WISCONSIN to unseat Governor Scott Walker. He won BIG.
In Florida, Rick Scott won BIG. Speaking of Mitch McConnell, he has an able opponent, who was WELL FUNDED and he won by like 15 points. HUGE.

Look to Virginia where Warner was up by double digits even 20 point, fell to 7 late and maybe only won by 4 tenths of a percentage point... ED!!!

The most accountable House, the House of Representatives, elected every two years flipped in 2010, held and grew their majority in 2012 and 2014.
Obama hasn't had to deal with them, the most directly responsible elected representatives of The People, because he had Harry Reid's STONEWALL.

Well DING DONG the witch was dead in 2010, and now obstructionist King Harry in the Senate is NO MORE. YES, we know Obama was elected TWICE.
He is not a Dictator. This is a Representative democracy. A REPUBLIC. He represents one branch of Government. The LEGISLATURE has a roll to play.

Obama IGNORING the House and Senate Republicans is not COMPROMISE. It is not GOVERNING. It is not BIPARTISAN. :sail:

Wow! One supposes we could find examples of predominate liberal constituencies electing old white men, too.

Exceptions to rules stand out in glaring contrast to norms.

So, now the narrative is that Harry Reid and Barak Obama have been the obstructionists over the past 6 years. A house that passes nothing (record low) but repeal Obamacare legislation (no replace, just repeal) and a Senate that filibustered everything (record high). Well, it is common for the winners to rewrite history. That's done in Texas, by the way, where all the textbooks come from.

If the public with their voter IDs and anger in their hearts thought that putting the lunatics in charge of the asylum was going to get them to shut up long enough for them to find the bathrooms, they were wrong. The blood curdling screams continue unabated!

Fine! We shall now see how manic-depressive children act in an ice cream store without supervision. That be one scoop or two?

You MINIMIZE 2 Indian American Governors of Southern States, one of them a WOMAN, RE-elected in SOUTHERN purple North Carolina? You MINIMIZE a Black Man elected to the U.S. Senate in SOUTH CAROLINA!!! You MINIMIZE it when The American People elect a BLACK FEMALE in a lily white Utah?

We are talking about hundreds of thousands of Independents and Republicans and CERTAINLY SOME Democrats who voted these folks into high office. DEEP SOUTH, OUT WEST...

I only point out ethnicity because it SHATTERS your race/racist meme. The elections of Obama SHATTER it. You simply look like a dumb bigot dog.

A more complete up to date story about the 356 bills PASSED IN THE HOUSE AND SENT TO THE SENATE. You simply listening to Ed Shultz?

You are simply WRONG. "98 percent of those bills were passed with bipartisan support. She also pointed out that 200 of the bills were passed in the House with unanimous support from the entire chamber and more than 100 were passed with 75% support of House Democrats."

OK I will take another point from you. We are talking about FOUR years, 2010 to 2014. The GOP took the House in the last mid-term 2010. They expanded their majority in 2012 and now again in 2014. That's four year I am referencing. You lose again... I think I have invested enough time on you two.

Along with Fangz, Trendy, My Little Brother, and Hates Red Necks, you guys SUCK! I mean SUCK BIG TIME. Blowhards. Bigoted bullshit wanna-be artists.

Here's Condi RIce: http://thehill.com/blogs/ballot-box/223 ... -rice-says

“The idea that you would play such a card and try fearmongering among minorities just because you disagree with Republicans, that they are somehow all racists, I find it appalling. I find it insulting. We are not race blind. Of course we still have racial tensions in this country. But the United States of America has made enormous progress in race relations and it is still the best place on Earth to be a minority,” Rice said.

Or, maybe voter suppression really does work?

Touting votes that re-name post offices as evidence of bipartisan consensus sounds about right. Congress doing what it does best!

You want to convince progressives to believe you're not really who we think you are, give us some evidence of that. Telling us lies and calling us names just doesn't get the job done.

Since Boehner crawled out of whatever hole he's been hibernating in, he's given us no expectation that whatever it is we're about to step in is anything but the same old Z#!t.

So CHECK. Got it. 3 points to crux. 4 if we count your "racism/racist" crap. Now:

Nominating Charlie Crist in Florida for Governor SUPPRESSED Democrat votes.
Wendy Davis's ugly attacks on her opponent SUPPRESSED Democrat votes.
Hillary Clinton campaigning for the Dem, saying "Businesses and corporations don't create jobs" suppressed votes.
ALL OF OBAMA'S lies and deeds suppressed DEMOCRAT VOTES.
Democrat Candidates who WOULDN'T let Obama campaign for them SUPPRESSED VOTES.
Governmental incompetence suppressed votes.
Negative campaigning suppressed votes.

Number of Democratic Senators who voted for the ACA in 2010 are no longer in the Senate.
3 died and 5 resigned, and 21 voted out.

It is what it is.
