You can be counted on , always, to parrot the ravings of the Koch brothers' Freedom Works faithfully. They are nuts ... and so are you if you swallow their propaganda hook, line and sinker.

Only insane right-wing paranoiacs would interpret a mild attempt
to improve basic educational standards as a threat.

You had it wrong then, and the proof just keeps coming in...

Governor of New York and Teachers Unions and Liberals and Democrat State Senators joining with REPUBLICANS? Against Common Core?
"Only right-wing paranoiacs"?

I had it RIGHT:

Many complain about No Child Left Behind, or even the Standards of Learning here in Virginia. This concern and criticism is not "...insane...paranoiacs...interpreting...mild attempts to improve basic educational standards..." I would submit.

See we could get into this, but once again, AO shows ugliness...
:pat:

So capable to hate. So ready to cast aspersions. So partisan and oriented to one size fits all top down power from D.C. I am so glad that Virginia has eschewed the carrots that came with strings attached laid nicely in the narrow neat little box.

"Maybe our new Governor can right this wrong"? You would like that wouldn't you.
I rail against the Left much, because the Left is working furiously to build sociopolitical structures I fine both offensive and dangerous actually to creativity and decentralization.

The downfall of the elitist leftist is his arrogance... I had it right then and NOW.

You had it wrong. Again.
(You'd think you'd get something right now and then, if only by accident, but it just never happens.)
Cuomo strongly supports Common Core, as his actual statement says, and is working hard to see that the implementation is effective by enlisting the advice of a broad panel.

Look you ding bat.

I just pointed out that Democrats ALSO have some problems with Common Core. If you took note, I was ECHOING Democrats like Cuomo, who are not too keen on the standardized testing aspect, a la the SOLs and No Child Left Behind, which is a point I made before. AO said only paranoiacs and right wingers had a problem with Common Core. I simply pointed out that Dems, some DEMS in New York also are critical.

I am correct, am I not? Of course I am...

From a New York Times reporter...

Postby Crux » 2014 Mar 24 21:38

The left values the Times. Here is a news piece about a reporter who has something to say about a chilling reality:

There are a few brave voices. We do not see too much criticism of Obama in the mainstreams.

There's a consistently delightful exception to this thread's title. My Rockbridge Advocate arrived in the mail, and this one is especially interesting. Highlights:
  • Horrible news regarding House Mountain, which most of us thought enjoys perpetual protection and public access after our work with RACC. It doesn't. Bureaucrats and the pursuit of money to feed themselves stand menacingly over it.
  • A reminder that sometimes, if rarely, even Republicans can have a sense of humor.
"Having twin two-year olds, I have a lot of practice dealing with Senate Democrats." - Ben Cline
  • The perils of public/private partnerships are under-appreciated. The former often gets fleeced by the latter, as in the case of the Horse Center, with an incompetent manager and responsibility diffused so widely as to vaporize into nothingness.
  • Limekiln Theater is about to be reborn! We'll be there for The Seldom Scene, you can count on it.

Today's Headlines

Postby Crux » 2014 Apr 09 20:57

Dallas IRS office plastered with pro-Obama stickers, screensavers...

Lerner talked of job with Obama's 'Organizing for Action'...

PARTY LINES: House panel urges criminal prosecution...

Issa Accuses Top Dem of Colluding with IRS...

Emails suggest Cummings prompted targeting of conservative group...

You will not find these on the Huffpo, the NYT, Politico, Think Progress, ABC, MSNBC, CBS, etc....

They are headlines NONE the less... This IRS story is HUGE, and it is fascinating that the so-called liberals DO NOT CARE. The Elijah Cummings story is BREAKING and will be overlooked by the so called liberals too. It makes me sick to my stomach how crass these non-patriots are.

Of course this is bullshit, and accounts of the actual facts of the events are covered well in much of the non-hysterical press.

The attack-bites are SCREAMED in the hysterical right wing press, which always amplifies attacks on Democrats and only Democrats. It's what they do. Destruction and negativism is all they have, or ever will have.

Oh God. Look. The Right attacks the Left. The Left attacks the right. To suggest hysterics only to the right is ridiculous.

Here is some hysterics:

This gets so tiring. The divisiveness of the so called Liberals. It gets old.

"Attkisson also called out the press for being "very shy" about challenging the Obama administration, and added that she did not encounter that kind of timidness when she covered the Bush administration. She said both the restrictions on the press and the secrecy under the Obama administration are "aggressive" and "unprecedented""

Why We Need Media Critics Who Are Fiercely Independent

An excellent read with plenty of food for thought while you're digesting your morning "news".

And here they are again, lo all these years later. Aged, two dead, but the tradition lives on. In this clip, only John Starling and Ben Eldridge and Tom Gray are the original Seldom Scene.

I've been noticing the disclaimer below at the bottom of each and every Huffington Post article about Donald Trump. I've never quite seen anything like this.
Editor’s note: Donald Trump regularly incites political violence and is a serial liar, rampant xenophobe, racist, misogynist and birther who has repeatedly pledged to ban all Muslims — 1.6 billion members of an entire religion — from entering the U.S.

And I heartily approve ! This is a small act of redemption and courage by one publication/member of the Press.

Ain't it a hoot maybe that President Trump is telling all the manstream medias they can jump in the lake cause he is not going to take any BS like they always do to patriotic Americans, huh?

I saw he told the New York Times they can forget it cause maybe he will only let the good reporters in from now on so we can get the fair and balanced news reporters and not all that liberal garbage. That will teach them a lesson, those who live by the pen will die by it maybe cause he has the power to talk to the press people who will give the real government truth and if they keep up that attacking him then maybe they should go to Guantmino like the terrorists, that would teach them a good lesson, huh? I saw Trump is going to do the waterboarding again and I think that is really good to teach the manstream press and terorists and aileens a good lesson, huh?

Love and kisses,

S&L....

You are out of your league on this subject and utterly ignorant of the protections of a free press under the United States Constitution.

Maybe you need to go back to school.

The WaPo.......a once credible paper and news source should be officially relegated to the dust bin of history.......or they should seriously clean house in the news room and hire people who know the definition of journalism.

Rather Than Exposing Propaganda, WaPo Shows How It's Done

Journalism can be fun, and informative.

Believes what?

Postby Crux » 2017 Oct 06 08:10

That "Steve" bought about 30 rifles just since election, and shot up hundreds of Trump supporters, largely, white christian conservatives?

That he may have marched in leftist rallys wearing a pink pussy hat? That he was a Premiere Club member at Mandalay. That Antifa and ISIS links existed in the form of photos and pamphlets etc in his room? That he had a two room suite? That he shot it up BATACLAN style for 10 minutes...

We will just wait for the official government report then, or listen to CNN? There is a lot going on.

"Steve's" wife had multiple social security numbers. Some OTHER woman is reported to have been in and out of his room. He was in those adjoining rooms for at least 5 days. Even the Sheriff said there is no way "Steve" acted alone. MULTIPLE SHOOTERS, use your own ears. MULTIPLE GUNS.

HRT sources says "clearly there was more than one shooter. Someone was shooting up a fuel tank of aviation fuel", as a possible distraction. There was another person, a man and woman, who was telling concert goers "you gotta get out of here you are all going to die". Were these Antifa members who got cold feet? Here is a biggie: FEDS, Law Enforcement, and a FLOOD of eyewitnesses confirm what SEAL Craig Sawyer said, early on there were several firearms going off. First on the fuel, then shots from near and far. Remember that Pink NASA shirt "Steve" was wearing at the protest? He for years spent millions at casinos, laundering money, got 20 long guns up into that secure room, with all that surveillance.

Law Enforcement is BUCKING the pressure to go along with the NARRATIVE.
THIS isn't some "open and shut" single shooter.
This is a framed "Steve", aided and abetted.

Multiple bursts of fire, multiple guns, multiple hotels:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kJkTD8Z3rBQ
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=givyZ2AnScc

The Cops stopped a shooter QUICKLY at the Bellagio. This was a major assault. This wasn't just "Steve". Was he a gunrunner? A money launderer?
