It was a short break huh Fangst, now that you posted the little Teabagger Poster on the Tea Party thread just this morning. This is how the broadminded left roll. The PRETEND to be all tolerant. The FEIGN indignity and hurt. The CLAMOR for civility and bipartisanship. They HATE. That is the problem. The solution is to be informed, to look inside, to champion worthy principles and functional psychology.

LOVE is the answer and God is love so I say seek GOD.

HEY! That's nice. It would be a great bumper sticker.

The above photos are credited to National Geographic.

The locations are:

1. Greenland
2. New Zealand
3. Maryland
4. Chile

Just some cool reminders about the important things and a much needed break from the insanity that seems to be ruling the planet these days. Much to be thankful for.

Fangz I worry about you. I hope the day comes when you will slow down and breath and realize that the Tea Party, and really Conservatives are on your side. The Constitution is on your side. Individual rights not GROUP IDENTITY is "on your side". Yes, be thankful, and remember BALANCE.

Crux....

With all due respect, politics is BARRED from this thread. It is for Mother Nature ONLY!!!!! Please keep your politics confined to the rest of the political threads on the board and leave this thread alone unless you have something beautiful to share about nature. Or do I need to sign you up for remedial reading?

Wrong again Fangz

A quick read of the very first page deals with such political issues such as, debt, nuclear power, war, global warming, gdp... Now you did express your wish to keep this a "nature amazement" thread I will grant you that, and I have tried really really really hard to honor your wish. I will continue...

Have a good weekend.

Nope....not photoshopped and not foolin' ya.

Here's some further information on this rarity of nature:

Why Evolution is True

Gender-bender Colored Cardinal

Leucistic Northern Cardinal

I have lived here almost my entire life and I have never seen one of these rare birds. But, just because I haven't seen it myself doesn't mean it's not real.

This amazing photograph of a cougar caught sleeping in a tree is inspiring.
It would be so tempting, in her native habitat, to just walk up and pet her.
But dangerous.

The Natural Bridge

Postby Wise One » 2014 Feb 07 11:09

This is a nice transition.
My first regular paying jobs were at Natural Bridge (lifeguard, soda jerk).
I have thought from the first time I saw it as a child that the bridge needed to become a public park.
At last, it finally will.
Congrats to all who made it possible.

I spent 3 summers in Yellowstone just before the wolf was re-introduced. This story of ecological transformation, returning Yellowstone to a natural balance that preceded Man's negative impact even in a National Park, is fascinating.
Click on the YouTube icon, then the Fullscreen icon to watch it in impressive full screen HD.

(Hearing the Brit refer to elk as a "deer" is grating to this American ear, even though it's in the deer family.)
