Blacks walked out?

Don't see any statement to that effect in this in-depth piece of serial journalism.

Wonder why it's an assumption that anyone attending this rally was black? Some might assume they were young republican operatives there
at the behest of Carl Rove.

Crux! Avid writer of fiction. Let us know when the novel is finished. Don't want to buy it. Already read the preface. Sounds stupid!

And as boring as waiting for Rick Perry to count to three. Texas! Aaaaaaaaaaaarguh!

Oh. That was a Rueter's story so the issue was avoided because of PC bias. (progressive cause)
You can look at the photos and get some context from other media sources. If you cared that is.

Hello! Wouldn't that be the job of the Surgeon General?

Wait! We don't Have a Surgeon General! One wonders why that is!

Why that is goes directly to the point.....elected officials who obstruct the function of government while complaining that government isn't functioning.

I agree. But that is the nature of politics and representative Democracy. ASK HARRY REID. The Senate has 55 Democrats and only needs 51 votes to confirm Obama's nominee, who has been named for over a YEAR. There is of course an ACTING surgeon general. Democrats in the Senate have not voted yet in the majority to confirm Dr. Vivek Murthy.

We're talking about Congress, here.

Look! Coondog is as disgusted with Harry Reid :pinocc: as he is with John Boner :pinocc: .

Don't know what the answer is. Do know that a republican majority is NOT the answer.

Looking at the slate of potentials in both parties for the November elections, a more pathetic, spineless, useless collection of retards has seldom been assembled on the same planet. One bunch wants a job they will refuse to do and the other group couldn't find their foot inside their own shoe.

Should the republicans gain the majority, we can set our clocks back 1 hour at the end of October and back another 120 years at the beginning of November.

Should the democrats maintain a narrow majority, expect more of the same.

Maybe this system of government is not the best on earth after all and maybe it's about run it's course. Maybe George Washington should have accepted the offer of Kingship.

Or, maybe it IS the best system and we've just become too stupid to operate it.

Democrats have never had the chance. It's the damn Senate rules, all attempts to change them being thwarted by Republicans.

And under those awful Senate rules, NRA puppet Rand Paul has put a "hold" on Murthy's nomination.

Democrats have never had the chance.

Blacks Walked Out on Obama speech

This is bullshit. As usual.

A search for the story finds that one (erroneous) report by Reuters reporter Jeff Mason was jumped on like flies on shit by every right-wing screed on the internet. There is no independent corroboration, only echo-chamber bullshit by conservative ideologues.

Yes, it's bullshit. A packed crowd of enthusiastic supporters endured hours of waiting and pre-event Secret Service screening, with the certainty of traffic jams facing them as the rally adjourned. Doubtless a few left trying to beat the rush, as we all have, but the most damning lie is that most of the departures occurred in the main event hall. Obama made a gracious ADDITIONAL appearance to an overflow room, and it was after he left that most of the departures occurred. Those people were not allowed to stay.

Well, when this squealing republican litter of swine first started sticking their poison pills in every piece of necessary government business, Obama Blinked.

Proud of their success at being mischievious little piglets, republicans deceided to take their government shutting down, defaulting, destructive stoat show just a few paces too far.....and stepped in it. And to make things worse, Obama stopped blinking!

Now, they all just sit and stare with their beady little porcine eyes wondering why, after losing the Presidency twice to a man who, according to Sty Monthly, hates America, they don't get to run things their way.

One supposes that as long as their slop buckets are full (and they are) there's no point in worrying about it. Oink!

First of all Harry Reid is hardly a consensus bridge builder. Secondly, it ONLY takes a SIMPLE majority to confirm the Doc! Most of the 1,000 nominated positions that need confirmation WILL GET THE CONFIRMATION!!! Look at Eric Holder. CONFIRMED. Strong opposition and the Senate rules are there for good reason.

Stop whining. Look at the head of the Secret Service. CONFIRMED. Now she was completely in over her head and unqualified, but was confirmed.

Stuff happens. We deal with it. Like the election of Obama and the confirmation of Holder. We cope...

We all look to The President especially at these times. He just makes things worse and now Oakland burns.

In Oakland, peaceful protest became violent, the San Francisco Chronicle notes:

...the evening devolved into lawless rambling by mobs of protesters who lit debris and trash can fires, shattered windows on businesses, including a Mercedes car dealership, and threw bottles and bricks at police. They looted several businesses, including a T-Mobile store and a paint store as they traveled miles through the city.

Local residents were disgusted at the antics of people they described as habitual thugs:

Worried about two large fires in the street in front of his house on Telegraph Avenue, Patrick Taylor emerged with a fire extinguisher to douse them. As he sprayed, he vented his disgust with the chaos.

“I’ve lived in Oakland my whole life,” he fumed. “F— these mother—. It’s f— stupid, these out-of-town, lifelong activist whatevers.”

Mike Brown is a convenient excuse for insurrection. Mike Brown made all the wrong choices. Again. And again tht day in August. It is that simple. :sail:

It is only cracking you up my friend. :dontknow:

Obama has made artful but unhelpful statements, like when he said it is understandable to react with disappointment, on his split screen with flames.
His entire statement for 20 minutes had ONE sentance directed at in any way thanking law enforcement. See if you can find it. I listened to his statement and have read it since.

Mike Brown died, making all the wrong choices on that day. :dontknow: Only Mike knew fully why he did what he did, but be honest coondog. TRY.

In a 10-minute address from the White House, Obama said, "First and foremost, we are a nation built on the rule of law. And so we need to accept that this decision was the grand jury's to make. There are Americans who agree with it, and there are Americans who are deeply disappointed, even angry. It's an understandable reaction. But I join Michael's parents in asking anyone who protests this decision to do so peacefully."
________________________________________________________________________________________

Wilson, Brown, and all of us got a full, fair and well considered legal ruling by the grand jury. :dontknow:

Obama is a Culture War Veteran. He and the rioters in this scripted event are as unhelpful as the Molitov cocktails, live rounds and barbarism.
"Burn this BITCH DOWN!" is getting NO respect from me, and it certainly isn't "REASONABLE". This is destructive of the FABRIC of society.
TRUTH, REALITY, FACT matter but they are under assault in front of our eyes. This is about orchestrated manipulation of CULTURE.

OK. Enough. This Country is Good. My heart goes out to the Citizenry and to the Cops. I champion them, not the rioters. We can not blame race for what happened to Mike Brown, not rationally. We can not rationally excuse Mike for his "unarmed" actions because he carried no club, knife, or gun. He was quite capable of deadly violence, just as Officer Wilson was. They are NOT however two peas in a pod!

For good reason we do not let individuals under the age of 21 legally own handguns, in Virginia, and it is the same in most States certainly.

This is somehow "unhelpful"?

"Burn, baby, burn!" Now, THAT would have been unhelpful. You have such a warped view....it sometimes causes concern.

Wilson, Brown, and all of us got a full, fair and well considered legal ruling by the grand jury.

Did we? Large crowds of people in 170 cities disagree.....adamantly!

But, you may be correct. After all, when has a policeman ever told a lie?

It has not been shown that Officer Wilson lied, in any way.
It has not been shown to even be PROBABLE.

You're so right. Nothing has been proven false. Nothing has been proven at all.

The point was that a narrative by a policeman is accepted as true by their peers, their associates, the juries convened by their associates. They're all on the same side and no effort is made to prove anything else.

Example: A visit to Cleveland finds a dead 12 year old. According to the initial police press interview, the police arrived, told the suspect to "show us your hands" three times, the suspect reached into his waistband and pulled out a gun which was determined not to have an orange cap indicating a toy gun and was then shot and was subsequently identified as a 20 year old by the shooter.

Now, surveillance video reveals that the arrival f the police car and the shooting of the child took place in two seconds or less in basically one fluid motion. There was no time, as was indicated by the police description, for anyone to say" show us your hands" three times and identify the nature of the gun before shooting. No time for the "suspect" to react to an instructions at all. Clearly, the video evidence conflicts with the story told by the officer.

Who you gonna believe, an officer of the law or your lying eyes?

Now, in absence of the video, the narrative stands. Case closed!

If we consider the video in the context of an eye witness, and discount the video (as is often the case) of not telling the whole story (Walmart shooting), the narrative stands. Case closed!

It will be interesting to see, in final analysis, if time itself occurs more slowly in the world of the police than it does for the rest of us.

The point is the systemic nature of the investigation (or lack of investigation as it were). In the Wilson case, we have no crime scene photos or measurements by the professional investigator who said it was all self evident and furthermore, the camera batteries were dead. It took Brown a lot less than 4 hours to walk from the Quick Tip where they certainly sell batteries, eh?

Nobody! Nobody who is not a police officer is ever afforded this kind of coddling by the legal system.

Final word: They afforded the jury a bogus definition on use of force which favored Wilson's actions - ruled by the Supreme Court to be unconstitutional. Now, as someone who has so often fretted over what is constitutional, doesn't that bother you just a little bit? The fix! It was in!

Coondog :beatdead:

You understand the purpose of the Grand Jury so let's move on. The above Constitutional crap does not apply as the facts seem to be, Brown was not FLEEING, he was CHARGING Wilson. Not running away, not lying on the ground. Brown was NOT shot in the back. Brown was first shot at/in the open driver's side window of Wilson's cruiser. You are not thinking critically about the above mentioned constitutional issue. I expect that.

As per the the kid in Cleveland I am not gonna conflate that situation with the Ferguson sitch. One death at a time. If you want to deal with that, fine.
_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

But stop with the mental gymnastics and FOCUS. Brown retreated, or walked away, but at some point after RIGHTFULLY being pursued by Wilson, CHARGED.

Does that liberal communist socialist Kenyan Muslim have no shame? Here is yet another abomination!

rhuppke@tribpub.com wrote:Dear Fellow Patriots:

This is an urgent call to action for all AMERICANS who care about freedom, liberty and NOT BEING KILLED by marauding bands of hostile foreign turkeys.

On Wednesday, our lawless president, Emperor Barack Hussein Caesar Obama the Dictator King, will goose-step into the Rose Garden, wipe his feet on the Constitution and do something no president in the history of this great nation has ever done: Pardon a turkey.

That's right, just days before Thanksgiving, Obama and his liberal cronies will grant amnesty to a presumably delicious turkey, denying the creature its God-given right to be eaten by a patriotic American family.

To make matters worse, a second turkey — an "alternate" in case the first one escapes to the safety of someone's dinner table — will be pardoned as well.

This is a clear violation of the will of the American people. According to the National Turkey Federation, Americans ate 46 million turkeys last Thanksgiving. That is a clear mandate for turkey consumption. The last thing we want or need is big government telling us which turkeys we can or can't kill and eat in celebration of blessing the Native Americans with our presence.

As expected, Emperor Obama's boosters in the lamestream media claim there is historical precedent for this blatant overreach of executive power. They say every president dating back to George H. W. Bush has held an annual turkey pardoning ceremony, but that overlooks several key points:

1) Not a single one of those past presidents was named Barack Obama.

OK, I guess there's just that one key point. Regardless, there is no precedent that justifies Obama's plan to grant amnesty to this pair of turkeys, not even the precedent he set by pardoning turkeys in the previous years of his administration. (Those years don't count because we forgot to be outraged.)

The mere idea of these unconstitutional presidential turkey pardons has already started tearing this country apart at the seams.

Last week in Seattle, Mayor Ed Murray pardoned a tofu turkey. That's weird, even by Seattle's standards, so you can just imagine the horrors that will come next.

A cranberry pardoning in Cape Cod. A nationwide movement to legalize marijuana stuffing. Gravy bans.

That nightmare scenario doesn't even factor in national security. A group of turkeys is known as "a gang," so some of these illegal birds will undoubtedly be gang members. And founding father and noted electricity socialist Benjamin Franklin once described the turkey as "a much more respectable bird" than the bald eagle, indicating a plot against America hatched generations ago.

Clearly, Obama must be stopped before America is irrevocably changed.

I'm calling on all members of Congress who believe in freedom to halt this imperial president by suing him, threatening to impeach him and refusing to confirm any of his judicial or executive nominees. So basically just keep doing what you're doing.

As for the rest of you, please take to social media and e-protest Obama's unlawful activity by using the hashtag #ProtestThePardon.

By tweeting at the top of our lungs, our collective voice might be loud enough to put the president in his place (prison) and the turkeys in theirs (on large serving trays).

Nothing less than the future of our democracy and the succulence of our Thanksgiving dinners are at stake.

May God bless us and protect us from this fowl tyranny.

This is not about race, it is about ideology. There are plenty of black independents and conservatives. Just dwell on the VISUAL...

It is obvious that Obama's economic policies have been disastrous job killers. Likely we can also blame these horrible statistics on the job killing effects of the ACA.

Only by electing a conservative to the White House in 2016 can this catastrophic trend be reversed.
