"...I inherit a mess everyday as the CEO of my company..." She lays it out nicely. Obama has been in over his head since the beginning but he RAN for office on the promise of being ABLE and competent. COMPETENCE has not been his trademark.

SPINELESS

Postby crux » 2011 Aug 10 17:23

You're right. SPINELESS for pandering to the 50% that is the entitlement class instead of supporting the 50% that is the productive class. SPINELESS for pushing MORE government spending MORE government "solutions" MORE government regulation and control. SPINELESS for FAILING to lead in LIBERTY...

Folks I see where Obama's administration is helping folks to produce a movie about the killing of Bin Ladin and of course the movie is to be released right before the election - while it was said there would be no pictures of those brave 31 men returning home, a photographer was given permission by the Obama administration to take pictures and of course our great President is standing there saluting.

I find these things to be reprehensible. Then I see where he is hosting a Iftar dinner to celebrate Ramadan at the White House. So Christian activities are a no no but Muslim ones are? Gimme a break.

Obama showing blacks how Big Government failed them

BLACK CONSERVATIVES will play a key role in healing the psyche of a broken black community. The salient point, MLK's assertion that it is character not color, is what escapes the victim mentality and identity politic of both white liberal America and too much of black culture... crux

LOL Not!

Postby coondog » 2011 Aug 22 17:28

This sort of childishness would be laughable if it weren't for the underlying insidiousness and epidemic like infestation in weaker minds all across the country.

Tossing around absurdities like giggly pre-adolescent girls at a slumber party is about all you guys (and the Tea Party) seem to have to offer.

Addressing the current situation requires some sincere maturity on somebody's part. Parroting the fetishes and fantasies of extreme right wingers from the blogisphere serves no purpose but to assauge the illogical predispositions of those who feed on that stuff like piglets at the teat.

This is the best you got? On the day the MLK memorial is dedicated in DC on the Mall, this is the trivializing we get?

OK, Boys & Girls,

What are your thoughts on last night's State of the Union Address? It was about as campaign/re-election focused as a speech could be. But, I came away with a faint glimmer of hope after I listened to the entire plan laid out by Obama. I was disappointed that there was barely a mention of healthcare reform. But, I'm not so sure that healthcare reform is front-burner issue for most Americans right now. I think a lot of our citizens are more concerned with having a job and being able to provide for themselves and their families. Unfortunately, most people fail to grasp how devastating a single medical emergency can be to anyone.......employed or not. Affordable care needs to be in place to protect people from falling into bankruptcy and poverty as the result of a medical emergency or serious illness. Yes, I'm biased in that I think affordable healthcare needs to remain at the forefront and not be shuffled to the bottom of the deck. The only point I could disagree with all the way is his support of fracking. I think this is too risky and there is zero guarantee that the natural gas extracted would supply this country for the next 100 years. Otherwise, kudos to Obama for laying out a plan for the nation that is not unreasonable or unrealistic.

On the other hand, I found the Republican response to be nothing short of sickening. The only thing they could expound on was "fixing" the safety nets of Social Security and Medicare. I strenuosly disagree with "fixing" or privatizing these two programs......if it ain't broke, don't fix it!!!! The biggest thing that needs to done here is to root out the fraud and abuse in SSI disability claims. I've seen a lot of that first-hand and it makes my blood boil because it keeps people who desperately need it from receiving benefits.

OK.......I'll step down off of my soapbox now. It's your turn!

Right on, Fangz. You've expressed my sentiments pretty accurately.

I didn't listen to the Republican rebuttal, having seen that tiresome movie before. (It is only shown in reruns.)

The last good idea that came from a Republican was during the Teddy Roosevelt administration, and they essentially booted him out of the party before all was said and done.

All I can say is its nice to know your president can speak coherently and elequently whether or not the goals and aspirations put forth have any chance of suport from a bunch of clowns whose main forte is name calling, mischaracterization and malicious chicanery.

The irony of Bush's Economic flunky blaming Obama for not fixing what he broke would be laughable if it wasn't so tragic.

I find it intuitive that, while Obama was ending his speech with an analogy that probably went over the heads of republicans in congress, his military, which is supposedly so disrespected around the world, was covertly eliciting a large measure of respect from a bunch of Somali pirates.

I am grateful to live in the real world as opposed to the ficticious one the republicans keep telling me I live in.

Yep, it's quite amazing how articulate that black Muslim communist from Kenya can be!

Did you spot Eric Cantor putting on his best sullen brat face throughout the speech? There's a moron who brings only shame on Virginia. He is reptilian in appearance, evil in motive, and destructive in his every action.

I'm going to hide under a chair until Virginians wake up to that real world you mentioned.

Eric Cantor?

A more repulsive individual I would be hard pressed to name....except for maybe if Jan Brewer and Joe Wilson had a baby!

That two faced little weasel was on TV extolling the virtues of Gabby Giffords like he wanted to take her to the prom. The problem with Cantor is that he represents Virginia all to well. In many ways, it's good to live West of the Blue Ridge. Most of the Flatlanders don't even know we're here!

'JES? Is this a slang? Are you talking "black"? Stereotyping? Even BO goes this route, using hip music and slick narrative. The funky soundtrack. "We've got your back"? "Have the President's back"? This is desperate. Voting for President isn't about having the First Dude's back. This is really a pathetic radio ad, peddled directly to the black population in America.

Identity politics, cliched speech and stereotyping along racial lines. Seriously be critical.
