It may be born out that Z has some culpability beyond mere justifiable self defense. It is not clear that:

There would have been no confrontation, no fight, no murder except for the fact that Zimmerman pursued, closed on, and threatened an innocent pedestrian.

What happened during the confrontation is largely Zimmerman's own fault for being a hot-headed macho aggressor, ignoring his own training and explicit instructions by the police not to confront Martin.

I don't know exactly what happened, but it would be very sick to hold an attacker innocent of murder just because he wound up momentarily on the losing side of a fight that he started himself.

"Murder"? That will have to be proven. Pursued? This is speculation. Z, the neighborhood watch guy followed the suspicious TM in the rain. Called police. Indicated that he would stop following and meet cops at his mailbox in his vehicle. A confrontation happened. Maybe TM, stoned, and the truant tough that he was, got pissed off, and took it to that sum bitch.

"Closed on"? This is opinion. At what distance did Z follow TM? Does we know? Following the suspicious with your full attention, eyes, and feet, is no crime. You do not know if or at what point Z stopped following TM.

"Attacker"? Your assumptions are not helpful. Z got the fear of God beat into his head that night. Was he himself negligent in this homicide? We shall see what the process brings. Who assailed who you do not know AO.

Now. Speaking to the process. The Prosecutor has not in the charging documents indicated many very pertinent facts. There's depth to this that we can not verify as of yet, and the arrogant flounder, and ignore their own bias, and go on.

Simple really.

I don't know how this continues to be a topic of conversation, other than an insatiable desire to make everything political.

So...lets be fair!

Without publicity and intervention by people like Sharpton and Jackson (not favorites of the NRA), there would probably be no preponderance of evidence at all. To that extent, they deserve some credit that, the system is at least in play.

Are they correct that this a case of racial profiling? In my opinion, probably not! We cannot know what went on in Zimmerman's head. Maybe it 'is' about race. But, it seems more likely that whatever profiling did take place had more to do with hoodies than actual race. 'Punks' are not a protected class under the law.

The intricacies of Florida law and the viability of Zimmerman's account (lacking paranormal testimony from the other side) will ultimately decide the case one way or another to the satisfaction of.....probably no one.

I still think the law is poorly conceived and that Zimmerman is, regardless of all else, a dumb ass....but I'll withhold final opinion on the rest of it until the verdict is in. Jurors are hardly ever wrong!

Gotta say I agree with you for the most part. I feel there has been too much attention on this one case and no attention to recent murders which were by far more atrocious. It seems to me that ole Al Sharpton and Jackson used this tragedy to get attention for themselves and used the parents in a despicable way.

I like this Town Hall video clip, of Alan West being questioned about an incident 9 years ago when, I take it he fired a pistol over the head of an enemy combatant? Maybe to get information that could keep his troops safe. I like how he handles it. Confronts it. Alan West is right on as usual. Check out his response:

This sums up pretty well all expectations of BO. Those who had Hope, disappointed. Those who had Fear, had it right...

It brings no joy to confront the abysmal reality that is this President. Economic growth revised downward again. 31 out of 33 months. Downward. Unemployment up to 8.2%, but everybody with a brain knows that there are 2 million less workers in the mix now as compared to when BO stepped up to the plate. The actual rate if you include these 2 million is 10.9%. BO just laments no one knew how bad it was. He ran on deficit reduction and against deficit spending. 5 TRILLION later? This is an absolute train wreck. It is painful to watch and live. The Keynesians think the Stimulus was simply not enough. The Quantitative Easing of the value of the dollar, not enough. Job numbers revised downward.

Barrack H. Obama, This man is in over his head.

He has said if he doesn't get it right economically, he will be a one term President. Remember that? Now we have him telling donors he needs a second term to re-do health care. Strange, and Disturbing to All, but the One His Own Self. Elizabeth Warren? Barney Frank and Chris Dodd? Eric Holder and Timmy G.? Biden? Pelosi and Reid?

Yep it looks really bad!

Growth is slower than we would prefer. But the key word is growth. 69,000 jobs to the good is better than 69,000 jobs lost.

The gleeful conservatives are quick to point out that the Obama economic policies they have undermined from the beginning are struggling to aid the floundering economy. Republican "job creators" prefer to donate millions upon millions to superpacs that spread hate, lies and disinformation rather than use that money to "create jobs".

In spite of the fact that Obama is supposed to hate business, hate america, wanht bigger government, not understand the economy.....Somehow....private sector jobs increase every month. Somehow, public sector jobs continue to shrink (contributing to an unemployment rate higher than it should be). Somehow, the stock market has doubled. Somehow corporate profits are at all time highs.

And Romney's supporters want to turn all that around?

Remember Al Franken? He was elected by 300 odd votes, in an election where oxer 1100 convicted felons were found to have voted. He was you could say, THE DECIDING VOTE on obamacare...

Remember Florida? 500 odd votes decided Florida, and THE ELECTION of bush v. gore...
